BOYNE AND CRYSTAL RETURN AS MICHIGAN GOLF SHOW SPONSORS
Show Promotions welcomes back Boyne USA and Crystal Mountain Resort as the first two sponsors of the 15TH Annual Michigan Golf Show, March 9 – 11, 2007 at The Rock Financial Showplace.

“We really appreciate the support of these two resorts and the incredible undertaking in setting up their impressive display areas and the staffing it takes to make it so successful” states Todd Smith, president of Show Promotions. Boyne USA returns to sponsor the Manufacturer’s Hitting Nets. Setting up a two thousand square feet display area, Boyne’s staff will be on-hand to demonstrate all the newest clubs, as well as featuring a wide-range of apparel, shoes and accessories for the golfer.

The talented teaching staff, under the direction of Brad Dean, PGA, also returns to offer free pro instruction for the entire 3-day event.

SPONSORS RETURNING TO WEST MICHIGAN GOLF SHOW
When the 19th Annual West Michigan Golf Show again rolls around on Feb. 9-11, 2007 in downtown Grand Rapids, thousands of golfers will be ready to escape the rigors of winter. Thanks to the support of this year’s sponsors, show patrons will find one of the most successful and well-regarded consumer golf shows in the Midwest.

“We’re so appreciative of our sponsors and how they contribute to making the West Michigan Golf Show such a success,” said Carolyn Alt, Show Manager. “Sponsors allow us to offer more attractions, provide quality headliners, and to increase our donations to local charity.” Sponsors announced so far for the 2007 Show are Lake Express, Srixon, Boyne USA, and the Golf Association of Michigan.

Hours for the Show are 4:00 pm-9:00 pm, Friday; 10:00 am-7:00 pm, Saturday, and 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday. Tickets are $8.50 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-14, and children 5 and under are free. Tickets will be available at the door as well as online at www.westmichigangolfshow.com. For more information, call 1-800-328-6550.

OOPS!
Hello Art - thanks for all of the good golf coverage and promotion and for helping to keep the industry informed. I wanted to clarify one of the items in your MGCOA piece - the Dul Family Player Development Leadership Award was awarded to the Michigan Section PGA, not me personally. I was in attendance to proudly accept the award on behalf of the Section. If you could clarify that in your next e-newsletter, I would appreciate it. Thanks Art.

Editor's Note: Thanks Kevin, I did rip the conference copy out of Kate Moore's hands at Frankenmuth to hit our deadline. As always, haste makes waste.

AMERICAN EXRESS AND THE USGA ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP
American Express and the United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced a landmark agreement that makes American Express the USGA’s first corporate partner in the Association’s 112-year history. The multi-year agreement strengthens American Express’ association with the game of golf by bringing a premium level of customer service and unique benefits and experiences to their Cardmembers and golf enthusiasts. In addition, this agreement will allow the USGA to broaden its communication with golfers.

Cardmembers will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase daily or weekly otherwise sold-out Trophy Club tickets to the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. American Express will also deliver benefits to Cardmembers across a broad range of golf experiences. These experiences will include exclusive access to some of the USGA’s championships, exclusive access to play U.S. Open courses, past and present, on select USGA-hosted days and a variety of benefits to enhance the enjoyment of the game.

THE THREESOME
Three bachelor brothers who lived and golfed all their lives were increasingly having problems at home. They were getting up in years being between 92 and 96 years of age. They had lived together in their parents house all their lives. They were getting ready to play a round the next day at The Majestic at Lake Walden That evening the 96 year old draws a bath. He puts his foot in and pauses. He yells to the other brothers, "Was I getting in or out of the bath?"

The 94 year old yells back, "I don't know. I'll come up and see."He starts up the stairs and pauses "Was I going up the stairs or down?"

The 92 year old is sitting at the kitchen table having a double scotch listening to his brothers. He shakes his head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood." He then yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."
